2022 Pro Rating
Richly scented with dark berries, violets and a graphite-like edge, Chateau Grand-Puy-Lacoste 2022 feels both luxurious and firmly Pauillac at heart. The palate is sleek yet concentrated, with silky, tightly woven tannins carrying layers of blackcurrant, plum, tobacco leaf and spice, finishing long, mineral and classically dry despite the vintage’s ripe, sensual character. This is a particularly seductive, potentially reference-point GPL that still retains real backbone for aging.
Roast rib of beef with bone marrow, Lamb shoulder with rosemary and garlic, Duck breast with blackcurrant jus
Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste is the grand vin of this historic Pauillac fifth growth, a Cabernet Sauvignon–dominant Bordeaux red grown on very deep coarse gravel plateaus west of the village of Pauillac. Regarded as a “great classic” of the appellation, it typically marries pure, ripe cassis and tobacco-cedar notes with refined but structured tannins, showcasing both the elegance and aging potential of its Médoc terroir under the long-term stewardship of the Borie family.
