2012 Pro Rating
Chateau d'Armailhac 2012 opens with ripe blackcurrant and dark cherry wrapped in subtle smoke, tobacco leaf and floral notes. The palate is supple yet structured, with refined tannins, fresh acidity and a long, cassis-driven finish that shows both elegance and Pauillac grip. Already approachable, it still has the depth to reward a few more years in bottle.
Roast rack of lamb; Grilled ribeye steak; Duck breast with red wine jus
Château d’Armailhac is a classic Pauillac fifth growth from the Rothschild family, typically Cabernet Sauvignon–led with an unusually high proportion of old-vine Cabernet Franc that lends fragrance and finesse. Grown on deep gravel and clay-limestone soils bordering Château Mouton Rothschild, it produces an elegant yet structured wine with forward dark fruit, graphite/lead-pencil notes, and solid ageing potential while remaining relatively approachable in its youth.
