Chateau Calon-Segur 2023 Vintage Overview

2023 OVERVIEW

Structured from the ground up by Cabernet, the 2023 Château Calon-Ségur is a cool, precise Saint-Estèphe with intense cassis and black raspberry fruit wrapped in graphite, cedar and a gentle woodland savor. The palate is medium to full-bodied, tightly coiled and energetic, its vivid acidity and firm, fine tannins giving a long, focused finish that promises a particularly classic and long-lived expression of this estate. A serious, restrained Calon today, it’s built for those willing to give it time in the cellar.

About Chateau Calon-Segur

Château Calon-Ségur is the historic grand vin of this Saint-Estèphe 3ème Grand Cru Classé, a Cabernet Sauvignon–led blend from a walled, gravel-and-clay vineyard that yields wines of notable power, finesse, and longevity. Typically aged around 18–20 months in 100% new French oak, it is known for its pure black-fruit character, refined tannins, and remarkable ability to evolve gracefully for decades in bottle.
