2021 Pro Rating
Intensity and restraint collide in Bruno Clair’s 2021 Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru, where deep red and dark berry fruit is framed by graphite-like minerality, cool spice and a touch of earth. The palate is powerful yet finely etched, with tightly coiled tannins, a compact, muscular core and a finish that seems to lengthen as the wine sits in the glass. This is a serious, almost stern Bonnes-Mares today, but beneath its structure lies remarkable depth and the promise of profound complexity with long cellaring.

Bruno Clair’s Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru is a powerful, mineral-driven Pinot Noir from 1.64 ha straddling Morey‑Saint‑Denis (notably making Clair one of the few owners on the Morey side) and Chambolle, grown on a mix of red clay soils and white limestone marls. Fermented with a significant portion of whole clusters (c.30–50%) and aged 18–20 months in roughly 45% new oak, it combines intense black‑fruit and floral aromas with saline, truffle‑like minerality, firm yet refined tannins and long ageing potential.
