Energy and tension define Bruno Clair’s 2018 Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru, a dark-fruited, floral and mineral-inflected Burgundy whose cool freshness is striking for such a warm vintage. Black cherry and wild berries are layered with earth and spice, framed by chalky, firm tannins and a touch of youthful wood that currently clenches the finish, promising a wine that will reward patience more than early curiosity.

Bruno Clair’s Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru is a powerful, mineral-driven Pinot Noir from 1.64 ha straddling Morey‑Saint‑Denis (notably making Clair one of the few owners on the Morey side) and Chambolle, grown on a mix of red clay soils and white limestone marls. Fermented with a significant portion of whole clusters (c.30–50%) and aged 18–20 months in roughly 45% new oak, it combines intense black‑fruit and floral aromas with saline, truffle‑like minerality, firm yet refined tannins and long ageing potential.
