Chianti Classico Ceniprimo Gran Selezione 2021 Vintage Overview

2021 OVERVIEW

Barone Ricasoli’s 2021 Chianti Classico Ceniprimo Gran Selezione bursts with concentrated cherry and strawberry fruit layered with orange peel, subtle spice and a touch of vanilla and cedar. The palate is sleek yet powerful, with dense, fleshy red fruit, lively acidity and firm, dusty tannins that promise graceful evolution in bottle. Long, vibrant and intense, it’s a structured, high-energy expression of Ceniprimo in a warm vintage.

About Chianti Classico Ceniprimo Gran Selezione

CeniPrimo Gran Selezione from Barone Ricasoli is a single‑vineyard, 100% Sangiovese Chianti Classico from the Ceniprimo cru in the Val d’Arbia (an ancient Pliocene fluvial terrace at about 300 m, south‑west exposure). Classified as Gran Selezione and aged roughly 22 months in 500‑L tonneaux, it’s noted for perfumed cherry and violet aromatics, balsamic/mineral undertones and a voluminous, finely structured tannic frame that reflects the silty, slightly clay‑rich soils of the site.
