Chianti Classico Ceniprimo Gran Selezione 2020 Vintage Overview

2020 OVERVIEW

Cherry liqueur, blackberry and blood-orange peel leap from the glass of Barone Ricasoli’s 2020 Chianti Classico Ceniprimo Gran Selezione, shaded by notes of rose, spice and warm earth. On the palate it’s concentrated yet incredibly precise, with silty, dark fruit depth, firm mineral grip and lifted acidity that keep this rich, warm-vintage wine taut and long. Structure and energy suggest patience will be rewarded, as the tannins are refined but still youthfully assertive.

About Chianti Classico Ceniprimo Gran Selezione

CeniPrimo Gran Selezione from Barone Ricasoli is a single‑vineyard, 100% Sangiovese Chianti Classico from the Ceniprimo cru in the Val d’Arbia (an ancient Pliocene fluvial terrace at about 300 m, south‑west exposure). Classified as Gran Selezione and aged roughly 22 months in 500‑L tonneaux, it’s noted for perfumed cherry and violet aromatics, balsamic/mineral undertones and a voluminous, finely structured tannic frame that reflects the silty, slightly clay‑rich soils of the site.
