Solaia 2022 Vintage Overview

2022 OVERVIEW

From the hot, dry 2022 vintage, Antinori Solaia shows impressive poise: rich blackcurrant and plum layered with dark cherry, cocoa, sweet tobacco and a touch of espresso, all wrapped in fine, polished tannins. The palate is concentrated yet surprisingly graceful, with ample depth and a long, resonant finish that emphasises purity of fruit over sheer power.

About Solaia

Solaia is Antinori’s iconic “Super Tuscan” flagship, a powerful yet polished Cabernet Sauvignon–led blend (with Cabernet Franc and Sangiovese) sourced from a sun‑exposed, rocky, calcareous 20-hectare parcel on the Tignanello estate in Chianti Classico. First produced in 1978 and bottled only in top vintages, it typically shows intense dark fruit, balsamic and spice notes, firm but velvety tannins, and the structure to age gracefully for decades.
