2001 Pro Rating
Solaia 2001 comes across as a powerful, classic Tuscan Cabernet blend, packed with blackcurrant and blackberry compote layered with espresso, dark chocolate, tobacco leaf and a touch of mint and herbs. The palate is dense, full-bodied and still firmly structured, yet the richness of the fruit and a savory, balsamic undertone keep it harmonious and compelling rather than overbearing. At this stage it shows a confident, mature character with plenty of depth and a long, gripping finish that nods toward top-tier Bordeaux while remaining distinctly Tuscan.
Bistecca alla Fiorentina, braised short ribs, aged Pecorino Toscano

Solaia is Antinori’s iconic “Super Tuscan” flagship, a powerful yet polished Cabernet Sauvignon–led blend (with Cabernet Franc and Sangiovese) sourced from a sun‑exposed, rocky, calcareous 20-hectare parcel on the Tignanello estate in Chianti Classico. First produced in 1978 and bottled only in top vintages, it typically shows intense dark fruit, balsamic and spice notes, firm but velvety tannins, and the structure to age gracefully for decades.
