Clos Ste. Hune Riesling 2016 Vintage Overview

2016 OVERVIEW

Electric in its intensity, the 2016 Trimbach Clos Ste. Hune Riesling layers lime, Meyer lemon and ripe stone fruit over smoky stone and a subtle floral perfume, all held in a tightly coiled, powerful frame. Despite its concentration and depth, the wine feels remarkably pure and graceful, driving on and on with mouthwatering acidity and a lingering, saline-mineral finish that shows why this vintage is already being hailed as one of the greats.

About Clos Ste. Hune Riesling

Clos Ste. Hune is Trimbach’s iconic dry Riesling from a tiny 1.67 ha monopole within the Grand Cru Rosacker in Hunawihr, Alsace, planted with very old vines on pure Muschelkalk limestone. Produced in minute quantities and released late, it is famed for its racy acidity, pronounced, stony minerality, and extraordinary capacity to age for decades, making it one of the world’s benchmark, long-lived Rieslings.
