2016 OVERVIEW

Depth and precision define Tenuta Guado al Tasso Guado al Tasso 2016, with layered blackcurrant and blackberry fruit wrapped in cool graphite, cedar and dark cocoa tones. The palate feels powerful yet incredibly smooth, its fine, persistent tannins giving an almost weightless texture to the concentrated fruit, while hints of herbs and warm earth add complexity on a long, focused finish. This is a superbly elegant, structured Bolgheri that reflects the vintage’s freshness as much as its richness, and it clearly has a long life ahead of it.

Guado al Tasso is the flagship Bolgheri Superiore red of Tenuta Guado al Tasso (Marchesi Antinori), a Bordeaux-style blend based on Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot and an increasingly prominent share of Cabernet Franc (and occasionally a touch of Petit Verdot) crafted since 1990.
