About Nuits-Saint-Georges Aux Thorey Premier Cru

Sylvain Cathiard’s Nuits‑Saint‑Georges 1er Cru Aux Thorey is a single‑parcel Pinot Noir (about 0.43 ha) from old vines planted in 1953 on a high, southeast‑facing slope near the Vosne‑Romanée border, rooted in shallow, stony Comblanchien limestone and fine gravel. Farmed with organic/sustainable practices and typically 100% destemmed, the wine is aged in a high proportion of new oak and shows concentrated red and black fruit framed by mineral, floral and sous‑bois notes with fine-grained tannins and good aging potential.
