Rioja 2021 Vintage Overview

2021 OVERVIEW

There is a sense of coiled energy in the 2021 Señorío de San Vicente Rioja, with vivid blackberries and dark cherries layered over savory earth, dried herbs and well-knit oak spice. This vintage shows impressive density yet remains finely sculpted, its firm but polished tannins and vibrant acidity carrying a long, nuanced finish that hints at the long life ahead. A superb and particularly complete edition of this wine, combining real muscle with lift and detail.

About Rioja

Señorío de San Vicente (San Vicente) is a single‑vineyard, 100% Tempranillo Peludo Rioja from San Vicente de la Sonsierra that expresses bright black‑ and red‑fruit concentration layered with mountain herbs, licorice and subtle graphite. Fermented and aged extensively (about 20 months) in new oak—predominantly French with some American—the wine is full‑bodied, finely tannic and built for medium–long cellar aging while retaining a lively, terroir‑driven elegance.
