Monte Bello 2020 Vintage Overview

2020 OVERVIEW

Dark red fruits, leather, tobacco and a touch of mocha give Ridge Vineyards Monte Bello 2020 an appealing flavor profile at first, but persistent wildfire smoke notes soon push to the foreground and never fully let go. Structure, balance and the house style are recognizable, yet this vintage feels thinned out and marked by smoke in a way that even time in the glass can’t disguise.

About Monte Bello

Monte Bello by Ridge Vineyards is an iconic, Cabernet Sauvignon–based Bordeaux-style blend from the limestone-rich, high-elevation slopes of the Santa Cruz Mountains, often cited as one of America’s greatest Cabernets. Crafted from low-yielding, organically farmed vines and vinified with a minimalist, terroir-driven approach, it is known for combining intense mountain fruit with firm acidity, pronounced minerality, and remarkable longevity in bottle.
