Barbaresco Montestefano Riserva 2020 Vintage Overview

2020 OVERVIEW

Montestefano Riserva 2020 from Produttori del Barbaresco shows a poised, almost silky side to this usually stern cru, with vivid red and dark cherry fruit, hints of blackberry and warm spice, and a gentle lift of mint and cedar. The palate is surprisingly refined and approachable for a young Riserva, with polished tannins and a succulent, chewy finish that leans more on ripeness and charm than on raw power. This is a particularly elegant, fruit-forward expression of Montestefano that trades some of its customary austerity for immediate pleasure and finesse.

About Barbaresco Montestefano Riserva

Produttori del Barbaresco’s Montestefano Riserva is a 100% Nebbiolo from the warm, south–southeast–facing Montestefano cru—a limestone, high-calcium site often called “the Barolo of Barbaresco” for its concentrated, meaty power and pronounced tannic structure. Vinified with extended maceration and aged at least ~30 months in large oak casks, it delivers dense red and dark fruit, floral lift and savory mineral/iron notes with the grip and longevity built for long cellar ageing.
