Nerello Mascalese Alberelli di Giodo 2022 Vintage Overview

2022 OVERVIEW

A lifted breeze of blossoms, citrus and sea spray introduces the 2022 Podere Giodo Alberelli di Giodo, a pure Carricante that crackles with tangy lemon and grapefruit before gliding into ripe white peach and pear. The palate is both vibrant and silky, layered with cool stone and salty notes, giving this high-altitude white a focused, gourmet feel and a long, spicy-mineral finish.

About Nerello Mascalese Alberelli di Giodo

Alberelli di Giodo is Podere Giodo’s single‑varietal Nerello Mascalese from ancient, pre‑phylloxera bush‑trained (alberello) vines on the northern slopes of Mount Etna—a tiny, high‑elevation site managed by Carlo Ferrini and his daughter. The wine combines Etna’s volcanic minerality and bright, saline acidity with lithe red‑berry and floral aromas, fine silky tannins and restrained oak aging, making it an elegant, terroir‑driven expression of Nerello Mascalese.
