About Clos des Goisses

Clos des Goisses by Philipponnat is an always-vintage, extra-brut Champagne from one of Champagne’s warmest and most dramatic terroirs: a tiny 5.83 ha, south-facing, pure-chalk walled vineyard on the steep slopes above Mareuil-sur-Aÿ. Vinified parcel by parcel (largely in wood, without malolactic fermentation) and dominated by Pinot Noir with some Chardonnay, it produces an unusually powerful, vinous, intensely mineral wine often compared to grand Burgundy and prized for its depth, longevity, and ability to pair with richly flavored dishes.
