Barolo Bussia Vigna Mondoca Riserva 2019 Vintage Overview

2019 OVERVIEW

Intensity is the calling card of the 2019 Oddero Barolo Bussia Vigna Mondoca Riserva, with saturated red cherry and blood orange layered over dark spice, tobacco and a hint of cocoa. The palate is full-bodied and powerful yet vividly tense, driven by succulent acidity and densely knit tannins that promise a long, savory evolution. This vintage stands out for its combination of richness and energy, giving both immediate impact and serious cellar potential.

About Barolo Bussia Vigna Mondoca Riserva

Oddero’s Barolo Bussia Vigna Mondoca Riserva is a single‑vineyard, 100% Nebbiolo from the Mondoca cru in Monforte d’Alba (Bussia), a warm, south‑/southwest‑facing site on thin, chalky Diano sandstone soils. Produced in very small quantities and typically aged about 36 months in large 30‑hL oak casks (and up to five years in cellar in the top vintages), it shows Oddero’s signature balance of elegant, balsamic and dried‑rose aromatics with saline minerality, assertive yet refined tannins and a long, complex finish.
