Eneo 2021 Vintage Overview

2021 OVERVIEW

Energy is the calling card of Montepeloso Eneo 2021, which streaks across the palate with vivid red plum and berry fruit layered over floral tones, subtle citrus lift and refined spice. Medium-bodied yet intense, it shows very fine, silky tannins and a long, mineral-tinged finish with a faint, appetizing bitterness that adds structure rather than weight. This Sangiovese-led blend feels particularly vibrant and precise in 2021, emphasizing clarity and balance over sheer power.

About Eneo

Eneo is Montepeloso’s flagship Costa Toscana IGT “grand vin,” a coastal‑Tuscan blend centered on Sangiovese (with Montepulciano/Malvasia Nera and small amounts of Alicante or Cabernet in different years) that is matured in seasoned French oak for roughly 15–18 months. It’s designed to express the Suvereto/Maremma terroir — saline freshness, Mediterranean scrub and mineral notes beneath concentrated dark‑fruit, spice and finely textured tannins — with an annual production of about 30–35,000 bottles.
