Fonterutoli Concerto 2021 Vintage Overview

2021 OVERVIEW

Mazzei Fonterutoli Concerto 2021 bursts with vivid red cherry and berry fruit layered with rose and spice, framed by polished, chalky tannins and lively acidity. There’s a subtle thread of cedar, tobacco and warm earth that adds depth without weighing down the bright, juicy core, giving a long, racy finish that showcases the concentration and balance of this excellent vintage.

About Fonterutoli Concerto

Concerto di Fonterutoli (Mazzei) is a historic “Supertuscan” first made in 1981: a Toscana IGT Bordeaux–style blend (roughly 80% Sangiovese and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon) from the family’s high‑altitude, calcareous–rock vineyards in Castellina in Chianti. It is typically aged in small French oak (tonneaux/barriques) and shows concentrated black‑berry and underbrush aromas, firm structure and ripe tannins, built for long aging while retaining the Tuscan Sangiovese brightness and site‑driven mineral backbone.
