Barolo 2019 Vintage Overview

2019 OVERVIEW

Energy defines the 2019 Massolino Barolo: tightly coiled red cherry and raspberry framed by dried flowers, citrus peel and a lick of savory spice ride on a backbone of firm, fine tannins and vibrant acidity. It’s focused, stony and serious rather than plush, with a long, precise finish that hints at rose, iron and subtle oak, clearly built more for graceful evolution than early charm.

About Barolo

Massolino’s Barolo (the classic Barolo DOCG from Serralunga d’Alba) is a traditionally made, 100% Nebbiolo wine that blends several limestone-rich vineyards to give a full-bodied yet refined expression of the commune. Aged for around 30 months in large Slavonian oak, it’s known for its garnet hue, complex spectrum of floral, spicy and red-fruited aromatics, firm tannic structure, and notable capacity to age while transparently reflecting Serralunga’s powerful terroir.
