Classy yet powerful, Massolino’s 2020 Barbaresco Albesani layers macerated cherry and plum with rose, lavender and a cool, stony undertone, giving a vivid sense of its Neive hillside origins. The palate is concentrated and deep but carried by very fine, tightly knit tannins, delivering ripe red berries, spice and licorice with a long, saline, mineral finish that marks this as a particularly complete and expressive vintage for Albesani.
