From the Villero cru in the warm 2020 season, Luigi Einaudi’s Barolo is taut and vibrant, with tangy red cherry and pomegranate layered over blood-orange-like citrus, dark licorice, dried herbs and a gentle tobacco and leather savoriness. The palate is medium to medium-full in weight but firmly structured, its fine, dusty tannins giving a long, focused finish and a sense of nervous energy that clearly signals this is built for the cellar more than immediate hedonism.
