Generous and brooding, the 2020 Luciano Sandrone Barolo Aleste delivers deep black cherry and plum layered with tar, licorice, dark spice and a brush of dried herbs. The palate is plush and mouthfilling yet firmly Barolo at heart, with creamy, chewy tannins and vibrant acidity giving definition to the rich fruit and carrying it into a long, racy finish. This is a warm-vintage Aleste that offers early charm but clearly has the structure and complexity for serious development in bottle.
