Dark, compact fruit drives the 2015 Lail Vineyards J. Daniel Cuvee Cabernet Sauvignon, with blackcurrant, blackberry and plum layered over bittersweet chocolate, coffee bean and warm baking spice. The palate is rich and powerful yet remarkably energetic, packed with dense black fruit and licorice notes, cushioned by plush but substantial tannins that carry through to a long, saturating finish. This is a dramatic, concentrated Napa Cabernet that shows its tiny-berry, low-yield vintage in its intensity and depth, yet it never feels heavy.
