Echezeaux Grand Cru 2022 Vintage Overview

2022 OVERVIEW

From Drouhin’s En Orveaux sector, the 2022 Echezeaux Grand Cru is a finely etched, high‑energy Burgundy with layered red and black cherry fruit, laced with rose petal, tea leaf, spice and a stony, crushed-rock edge. Medium-bodied yet concentrated, it glides on silky, powder-fine tannins, gaining a late surge of intensity and finishing long, precise and slightly austere, promising real complexity with time in bottle.

About Echezeaux Grand Cru

Joseph Drouhin’s Grands‑Echézeaux is a 100% Pinot Noir Grand Cru from their small parcel in Flagey‑Échezeaux, farmed with organic/biodynamic methods and aged in French oak (roughly 16–20 months with around 20–30% new barrels). The wine marries precise, terroir‑driven minerality from the Bajocian limestone soils with a refined, silky texture and concentrated notes of cherry and dark chocolate that evolve with age toward truffle, leather and cedar; it’s built for long cellaring while retaining the elegance Drouhin is known for.
