Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru 2023 Vintage Overview

2023 OVERVIEW

From Joseph Drouhin’s 2023 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru comes a poised, tightly coiled white Burgundy that layers zesty citrus and crunchy green apple with hints of melon, tropical fruit and delicate blossom. The palate feels satiny yet firmly etched by limestone grip, with subtle pastry and bread notes and a long, cool, mineral finish that is currently more serious than showy. This is a superb, focused vintage that will reward patience in the cellar with real grandeur and complexity.

About Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru

Joseph Drouhin’s Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru is a powerful, terroir-driven Chardonnay from the high, east-facing Les Languettes plots on the Corton hill (Aloxe‑Corton/Ladoix/Pernand), combining stony limestone minerality with concentrated citrus and orchard fruit, floral and honeyed notes, and subtle toasted oak (c.30–35% new) for long ageing—majestic, structured and built to evolve over decades.
