Cote Rotie La Turque 2020 Vintage Overview

2020 OVERVIEW

Dark-toned fruit and exotic spice drive Guigal Côte Rôtie La Turque 2020, a concentrated yet remarkably poised Syrah from the Côte Brune. Layers of blueberry, black cherry and cured meat glide over a firmly structured, mineral-inflected palate, with polished tannins and a long, powerful finish that promises impressive longevity. This vintage stands out for its intense spice character and depth without the sheer mass of some recent years, giving both immediate seduction and serious aging potential.

About Cote Rotie La Turque

Côte-Rôtie La Turque by Guigal is one of the estate’s three legendary single-vineyard “La-La” wines, sourced from a tiny, steep, south-facing parcel on the Côte Brune, re-planted in 1980–81 and first produced in 1985. Typically a 93% Syrah, 7% Viognier co-ferment aged over three years in new French oak, it marries the dark, meaty power and structure of Côte Brune with the floral, silken elegance associated with Côte Blonde, yielding intensely aromatic, deeply concentrated wines built for decades of aging.
