Chateau d'Ampuis Cote Rotie 2016 Vintage Overview

2016 OVERVIEW

Built on a vibrant spine of red raspberry, dark cherry and plum, the 2016 Guigal Chateau d'Ampuis Côte-Rôtie layers in hints of cassis, floral spice, cured meat and subtle cedar, all wrapped in a sleek, seamless texture. Medium to full in body with polished tannins and a long, savory-mineral finish, it shows the vintage’s hallmark combination of energy, finesse and depth, already impressive yet clearly structured for extended aging.

About Chateau d'Ampuis Cote Rotie

Château d’Ampuis Côte-Rôtie by E. Guigal is a powerful yet polished Northern Rhône red, built primarily from old-vine Syrah with a touch of Viognier sourced from seven top lieu-dits spanning both Côte Blonde and Côte Brune. Aged over three years in new oak, it is known for its deep color, seductive perfume of black fruits, spice and smoked/vanilla notes, and a muscular, tannic structure that places it just below Guigal’s famed “La-La” trio in both ambition and aging potential.
