1982 Pro Rating
Layers of mature Nebbiolo character stream from the 1982 Giacomo Borgogno & Figli Barolo Riserva, with scents of dried cherry, rose potpourri, leather and forest floor over a savory, gamey core. The palate is still vigorous, its bright acidity and resolved yet present tannins giving drive and length to the complex, autumnal flavors, finishing long and deeply aromatic. A beautifully preserved Barolo from a great year, now all about nuance and tertiary depth rather than power.
Brasato al Barolo (wine-braised beef), porcini and truffle risotto, aged Parmigiano Reggiano
Barolo Riserva by Giacomo Borgogno & Figli is a traditionally crafted, long‑lived Nebbiolo from one of Barolo’s oldest estates, blending fruit primarily from historic crus such as Liste, Fossati and Cannubi. Made with extended fermentations and lengthy ageing in large Slavonian oak casks, it is renowned for its depth and complexity, evolving classic Barolo notes of dried cherry, rose, tar, tobacco and spice over decades of bottle age.
