Chianti Classico Filetta Di Lamole 2021 Vintage Overview

2021 OVERVIEW

Fontodi Chianti Classico Filetta di Lamole 2021 glides across the palate with vibrant dark cherry and plum layered over violet, spice and stony nuances, showing extra depth and suppleness compared with earlier vintages. Lively acidity and refined, flowing tannins keep it poised and energetic, while a long, fruit-etched finish hints at earthy complexity to come with bottle age.

About Chianti Classico Filetta Di Lamole

Fontodi’s Filetta di Lamole is a high‑altitude (around 600 m) single‑vineyard Chianti Classico made from 100% Sangiovese in organically farmed, terraced plots above Lamole; fermented with indigenous yeasts and extended maceration, it’s aged in large French oak for roughly 18–24 months. The wine shows a cool‑climate Sangiovese profile—sinewy freshness and finely knit tannins with bright cherry and red‑berry fruit, violet and licorice florals, and savory tobacco/underbrush notes—offering elegant tension and good ageing potential.
