Poggio Valente 2022 Vintage Overview

2022 OVERVIEW

Energy and clarity define the 2022 Fattoria Le Pupille Poggio Valente, a vividly perfumed Sangiovese with tart red cherry, plum and stone-fruit notes layered over wild herbs, florals and a faint earthy, clay-like nuance. The palate is juicy and bright yet satisfyingly full, with open-knit tannins that give shape without heaviness and a long, lifted finish that feels distinctly coastal and Mediterranean. This vintage stands out for its translucence of fruit and elegance rather than sheer power, showing a very refined evolution in style.

About Poggio Valente

Poggio Valente is Fattoria Le Pupille’s single‑vineyard, 100% Sangiovese cru from the Poggio Valente site near Pereta in the Maremma (IGT Toscana), planted on sandy, sandstone‑and‑clay hills that give the wine a bright, Mediterranean lift. Crafted since the late 1990s under Elisabetta Geppetti’s vision, it’s vinified with long maceration and age in large tonneaux to reveal intense red‑cherry and wild‑herb aromas, silky yet structured tannins, and a persistent, mineral finish that speaks clearly of its seaside Tuscan terroir.
