Lifted aromas of black cherry, wild herbs and violets introduce the 2018 Fattoria di Felsina Chianti Classico Riserva Rancia, which shows a poised, medium-bodied frame with impressive depth. Dark berries, currant and hints of earth and spice ride on very fine but insistent tannins, giving the wine both elegance and a serious, ageworthy backbone. The finish is long, sapid and refined, promising even greater nuance with time in the cellar.
