Gevrey-Chambertin Les Cazetiers Premier Cru 2023 Vintage Overview

2023 OVERVIEW

Subtle at first and then quietly captivating, this Faiveley Gevrey-Chambertin Les Cazetiers Premier Cru 2023 layers ripe raspberry and dark cherry fruit with gentle florals, a hint of foresty undergrowth and a touch of fine-grained oak. The palate feels sleek yet concentrated, driven by bright acidity and taut, precise tannins that carry the red-fruit core long and deep, giving an impression of serious structure wrapped in graceful refinement. It’s a particularly focused and fragrant expression of Cazetiers in 2023, with crop-thinned intensity and a clean, mouthwatering finish that promises excellent evolution in bottle.

About Gevrey-Chambertin Les Cazetiers Premier Cru

Faiveley’s Gevrey-Chambertin Les Cazetiers Premier Cru is a benchmark Côte de Nuits Pinot Noir from one of Gevrey’s great “têtes de cuvée,” a steep, sun‑drenched slope just below grand cru level that Faiveley now farms almost half of. Old vines on a mix of marl-limestone higher up and deeper clays below give a powerful yet racy style, typically deep ruby in color with intense red and dark berry fruit, toast and roasting notes, firm but polished tannins, and a long, mineral‑tinged finish that repays time in the cellar.
