Energy drives the 2020 Estancia Uspallata Igneo, with vivid blackberry and sour cherry layered over wild herbs, pink pepper and a hint of rose. Co-fermented from high-altitude Malbec, Cabernet Franc and a touch of Pinot Noir, it feels taut and vertical on the palate, its bright acidity and fine but firm tannins giving shape to the long, spicy finish. This vintage shows both the warmth of the year in its generous fruit and the site’s altitude in its cool, lifted profile.
