Don Maximiano Founder's Reserve 2020 Vintage Overview

2020 OVERVIEW

Ripe blackcurrant and blueberry cascade through Errazuriz Don Maximiano Founder's Reserve 2020, edged by dark olive, tobacco leaf and a dusting of cocoa, all carried on finely grained yet assertive tannins that feel both serious and polished. The relatively modest alcohol and lower Cabernet share give this warmer-vintage wine an elegant, slightly austere frame, but the finish is long, creamy and packed with sunlit black fruit and subtle cedar spice.

About Don Maximiano Founder's Reserve

Don Maximiano Founder’s Reserve is Errázuriz’s flagship Aconcagua Valley red, a Cabernet Sauvignon–based Bordeaux-style blend that captures the estate’s warm, sun-bathed slopes tempered by cool Pacific breezes. Typically aged for almost two years in French oak, it is known for its polished structure, fine-grained tannins and vivid freshness framing layered cassis, dark plum and violet tones. Long celebrated as one of Chile’s benchmark icon wines, it aims for elegance and longevity rather than sheer power.
