Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru 2021 Vintage Overview

2021 OVERVIEW

Silky yet deep, Domaine Trapet Père et Fils Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru 2021 is all about precision and quiet intensity, with crystalline red and dark berry fruit layered over hints of rose, spice, citrus peel and a touch of cocoa. The whole-cluster lift gives a floral, seductive perfume, while fine, pliant tannins and a strong mineral line carry the wine through a long, graceful finish that feels unusually refined for the vintage.

About Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru

Domaine Trapet Père et Fils’ Chapelle‑Chambertin Grand Cru is a small, prized Pinot Noir parcel (about 0.6 ha in the Grande Chapelle) farmed biodynamically from very old vines; the wine is celebrated for an almost “Musigny‑like” perfume of rose, violets and red/black fruit framed by chalky limestone minerality, gentle spice and silky, fine-grained tannins. Trapet’s use of whole‑cluster fermentation and restrained new oak produces an elegant, precise Grand Cru with saline tension and long ageing potential rather than overt opulence.
