Clos Vougeot Grand Cru 2022 Vintage Overview

2022 OVERVIEW

Depth and drive define the 2022 Domaine Jean-Jacques Confuron Clos Vougeot Grand Cru, packed with dark berry and plum fruit layered with hints of cocoa, spice and a subtle floral lift from the whole bunches. The palate is powerful yet finely tuned, with concentrated, ripe fruit wrapped in firm tannins and a sapid, slightly bitter-cherry bite that underscores its seriousness. This is a structured, classical Clos Vougeot that demands time to harmonize its stems, oak and abundant fruit into something truly complete.

About Clos Vougeot Grand Cru

Domaine Jean-Jacques Confuron’s Clos Vougeot Grand Cru is made from a small (≈0.5 ha) plot in the upper section of the walled Clos, from old vines planted around 1962, producing roughly 2,000 bottles a year; the brown, calcareous soils rich in clay and alluvium give a concentrated, structured Pinot Noir often aged 15–18 months (high new-oak proportion) that combines ripe red and dark fruit, savory earth and spice with the firm tannic backbone and terroir depth typical of top Clos Vougeot.
