Chablis 2022 Vintage Overview

2022 OVERVIEW

Bright citrus, white peach and a hint of mandarin dance over subtle pastry and chalk in the 2022 Domaine François Raveneau Chablis, giving a warm-vintage generosity that’s kept firmly in check by racy acidity and a long, mouthwatering, sea-breeze finish. Succulent yet bracing, it feels both approachable now and serious enough to reward patience, with real depth and classic Chablis cut despite the sunshine of the year.

About Chablis

Raveneau’s straight Chablis AOC is a benchmark village wine from tiny, low-yield parcels on classic Kimmeridgian limestone near Montmains and Forêts, entirely Chardonnay and hand-harvested. Fermented in stainless steel then raised in seasoned barrels, it delivers incisive acidity and oyster-shell salinity wrapped around pure white fruit and citrus, with the structure to age far beyond most village Chablis. In style it mirrors the domaine’s grands and premiers crus on a humbler scale: tense, mineral, and quietly powerful rather than showy.
