About Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru Vieilles Vignes

Denis Bachelet’s Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru Vieilles Vignes is a tiny, revered parcel of very old Pinot Noir vines (mostly planted 1907–1917) on chalky-clay in Charmes-Chambertin, yielding a wine famed for its silken texture, haunting perfume and remarkable depth. Farmed sustainably and made with 100% destemmed fruit and long élevage in barrel, it marries seductive, pure red and black berry fruit with earth, spice and truffle complexity, and is widely considered one of the benchmark expressions of this grand cru.
