About Bourgogne Blanc Le Clos du Chateau

Domaine de Montille’s Bourgogne Blanc “Le Clos du Château” is a chardonnay from a roughly 5-hectare walled parcel in front of the Château de Puligny-Montrachet; although labeled as a Bourgogne, its site on deep silt-and-clay soils and proximity to Puligny gives the wine a Puligny-like generosity and mineral tension. Farmed biodynamically, it is fermented and aged in large 600L and 228L barrels with little new oak, producing a fresh, textured white with bright citrus and stone-fruit flavors, subtle toast and a stony, saline finish.
