Barolo Monfalletto 2021 Vintage Overview

2021 OVERVIEW

Energy and depth define Cordero di Montezemolo’s 2021 Barolo Monfalletto, which layers dark cherry and plum with hints of menthol, spice, leather and a subtle woodland earthiness. The palate is broad and concentrated yet buoyed by bright acidity, with polished, firm tannins that currently keep the finish a touch severe but promise plenty of complexity as it relaxes in bottle. A vibrant, generously fruited La Morra Barolo that balances approachability with real aging potential.

About Barolo Monfalletto

Barolo Monfalletto from Cordero di Montezemolo is the family’s signature Barolo made from 100% Nebbiolo grown across the historic Monfalletto estate in La Morra; the wine is a stitched blend of many hill parcels, vinified and aged in a mix of large casks and smaller oak to produce a perfumed, floral Barolo with red cherry, rose, tobacco and mineral notes. It leans toward the elegant, approachable La Morra style—pleasant and drinkable when young—yet has enough tannin and structure for medium-term aging and complexity with time.
