Chateau Potensac 2019 Vintage Overview

2019 OVERVIEW

From the first sip, 2019 Château Potensac shows a poised, classical Médoc profile with vibrant red and black currant fruit, hints of raspberry, cedar and tobacco, and a subtle floral lift. The palate is medium-bodied yet concentrated, framed by finely etched, Pauillac-like tannins that feel silky rather than severe, and finishes long with a cool, stony freshness. This vintage stands out for its combination of ripeness, clarity of fruit and nervy, energetic structure that promises graceful evolution in the cellar.

About Chateau Potensac

Château Potensac is the grand vin of this historic Médoc estate in Ordonnac, long owned by the Delon family (of Léoville-Las Cases), and is often cited as a benchmark of “pure Médoc style.” A Cabernet–Merlot–Cabernet Franc (with some Petit Verdot) blend grown on gravelly, limestone-clay mounds akin to those of Saint-Estèphe, it typically delivers firm structure, dense but refined tannins, and ripe black-fruit character with mineral tension and notable ageing potential.
