Chateau Leoville Las Cases 2010 Vintage Overview

2010 OVERVIEW

Structured like a steel spine wrapped in velvet, the 2010 Château Léoville Las Cases is a profound, classic Saint-Julien, layered with dense cassis, blackberry and raspberry fruit, framed by cedar, cigar-box spice and stony, graphite-like minerality. The palate is full-bodied yet incredibly precise, with concentrated dark fruit, vibrant acidity and tightly woven but polished tannins that promise decades of evolution rather than immediate charm. This vintage stands out for its combination of power, depth and refined texture, still a little reserved today but clearly destined to be one of the great Las Cases monuments.

About Chateau Leoville Las Cases

Château Léoville Las Cases is the grand vin of this famed Saint-Julien second growth, drawn primarily from the walled “Grand Clos” vineyard that borders Pauillac and Château Latour, on deep Quaternary gravel over clay influenced by the moderating Gironde estuary. Dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot and Cabernet Franc, it is known for its monumental structure, profound depth, and remarkable aging capacity, often showing a Pauillac‑like power combined with Saint‑Julien elegance.
