Chateau Latour 2009 Vintage Overview

2009 OVERVIEW

Initial aromatics on the 2009 Château Latour are almost theatrical: deep blackcurrant and blackberry layered with cedar, graphite, dark chocolate and a savory, meaty hint of earth. On the palate it is powerful yet composed, with immense concentration, perfectly ripened tannins that feel velvety rather than harsh, and a cool mineral freshness that keeps all the opulence in check. The finish is very long, driven by pure cassis and subtle spice, and while already thrilling, the structure and density clearly mark this as a legendary, decades-long Latour.

About Chateau Latour

Château Latour is the iconic Grand Vin of the First Growth estate in Pauillac, crafted almost entirely from old Cabernet Sauvignon‑dominant vines in the famed l’Enclos parcel overlooking the Gironde. Renowned for its immense structure, longevity, and precision, it typically blends Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot and small amounts of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, expressing the powerful yet refined character of Médoc’s deep gravel terroir.
