Tense citrus and stone-fruit aromas lead into a vivid, tightly coiled palate in the 2021 Chateau Lafleur Les Champs Libres Blanc, where lemon, lime zest and white peach are etched by saline, chalky minerality and subtle oak spice. There’s notable depth and structure for Sauvignon Blanc, with a cool, driving line of acidity and an almost electric finish that promises even greater complexity with a few more years in bottle.

Les Champs Libres Blanc is the Guinaudeau family’s boutique white from the Château Lafleur stable (made at their Grand Village/Ambeau holdings), a small-production, terroir-driven wine first created in 2013 and built around Sancerre-selected Sauvignon Blanc parcels on clay‑limestone soils. Fermented and aged in new barrels with lees work, it’s noted for chalky minerality, bright citrus and floral aromas, ripe orchard fruit and a long, focused finish that reads more like a serious Bordeaux white than a simple blend.
