2018 Pro Rating
Gentle at first and then quietly confident, Chateau Lafite Rothschild Anseillan 2018 runs on pure blackcurrant and cherry fruit laced with floral notes, fine cedar spice and a touch of tobacco. The palate feels polished and medium-bodied, with Pauillac’s graphite-like grip wrapped in supple tannins, finishing long, fresh and slightly savory. It captures the Lafite finesse in a more open, easygoing guise that’s already hugely enjoyable.
Roast lamb with herbs, grilled duck breast, aged Comté

Anseillan is a modern Pauillac from Château Lafite Rothschild, drawn from the cooler, clay-rich northern plots of the Lafite estate that long fed the grand vin but were only bottled separately beginning with the 2018 vintage. More Merlot-driven than Lafite itself, it offers a dark, quietly powerful profile—ripe black fruits, supple but firm tannins, and a clear, finely etched expression of this distinctive corner of the Lafite terroir—crafted and aged in the same meticulous, classical Bordeaux manner as the château’s top wine.
