Chateau Haut-Batailley 2021 Vintage Overview

2021 OVERVIEW

Chateau Haut-Batailley 2021 shows refined Pauillac character, with cool cassis and bramble fruit layered by tobacco leaf, graphite and a touch of mint over a supple, creamy mid-palate. Medium-bodied yet flavorful, it glides on fine, chalk-tinged tannins, finishing long, fresh and poised rather than powerful, reflecting the vintage’s elegance and restraint.

About Chateau Haut-Batailley

Château Haut-Batailley is a Cabernet Sauvignon–led Grand Cru Classé (1855 Fifth Growth) red from Pauillac, crafted on deep Garonne gravel soils that sit at the southern end of the appellation near Château Latour. Typically blended with Merlot (and occasionally a little Cabernet Franc), it is known for combining classic Pauillac structure—blackcurrant, cedar, graphite and tobacco—with an elegant, approachable style and good aging potential, reflecting both its historic terroir and the modern stewardship of the Borie and now Cazes families.
