About Pouilly-Fuisse Clos des Quarts Monopole

Pouilly‑Fuissé “Clos des Quarts” Monopole from Château des Quarts is a walled, single‑owner (monopole) Premier Cru parcel in Chaintré planted largely to old Chardonnay vines (some dating to 1917) that sits on shallow clay‑limestone (Bajocian/Aalenian) soils with a southeast exposure above the Saône. Made by Olivier Merlin with input from Dominique Lafon, the wine is typically barrel‑fermented and aged in oak to produce a dense, mineral‑tinged, orchard‑fruit driven style with saline, spicy notes and strong ageing potential.
