Cotes du Rhone Reserve 2012 Vintage Overview

2012 OVERVIEW

Soft, pure red fruit glides through Chateau de Fonsalette Cotes du Rhone Reserve 2012, lifted by peppery spice and a savoury, herbal streak that keeps it vivid and graceful rather than heavy. The palate feels medium to full in weight but almost weightless in texture, with a cool freshness and gentle length that promise more nuance with time in bottle.

About Cotes du Rhone Reserve

Côtes du Rhône Réserve from Château de Fonsalette is a traditionally crafted, age‑worthy southern Rhône red from the Rayas family, typically based on Grenache with significant Cinsault and some Syrah from sandy and limestone soils near Lagarde-Paréol. Made with organic farming, whole-cluster fermentation and élevage in large old foudres, it tends to show expressive red and dark berry fruit, garrigue and earthy spice with fine tannins and notable finesse that far exceed its modest Côtes du Rhône appellation.
